nursery style: new cot

After alot of thought, we have decided that Harley is not ready to move into a bed, even not in a few months, so we are going to have to buy a second cot. Not wanting to spend too much on the second one, I was leaning towards a plain white one from Ikea, but then I came across this one, on sale at Incy Interiors! I love an iron cot!

Finally I got around to clearing out the spare room yesterday, and I will be posting progress as I create a new room for Harley and update the nursery for the new little one.

{the entry to the apartment that i called home for a week, how cute is it!}

Still reflecting on the amazing week I spent in Paris last month. I've only been home just over a week, but it feels like forever ago. Why is that always the way with holidays?

More Paris posts to come. There is just far too much to share!

Shopping in Paris: Bonpoint

When I was staying in Paris last week, my friend Kassy had a list of places and stores that we must visit, and Bonpoint was one of them.

Located at 6 Rue De Tournon in Paris, on the premises of the 17th century Hotel de Brancas, the flagship Bonpoint concept store includes eight imaginatively decorated rooms, as well as a gorgeous cafe which has a courtyard that opens on sunny days.

Even if you don't have children, this store is well worth a look, just for the interior itself. Stunning white washed floorboards, whimsical chandeliers and mind blowing displays that really do leave you breathless! If you do have children, or are expecting, the store sells beautiful clothing for newborn up to around 12 year old, accessories, shoes, blankets, teddies, and also beautiful perfumes.

We took a break from baby shopping and shared a chocolate brownie and a generous slice of cheesecake in the store's cafe.

Of course I walked out the door with some very special purchases for my baby girl, due in June. The kind of pieces you hand down through generations! If you find yourself in Paris, be sure to visit Bonpoint, and allow yourself enough time to take it all in, it really is a truly amazing and special store to visit. I hear that there are also stores in other parts of Europe, and in Asia and the US.

point + shoot: childless in bali

We have just returned from five glorious days in Seminyak, Bali, full of amazing food, heaps of shopping, and plenty of rest and relaxation. We went with another couple, great friends of ours who have no children yet, so we made the decision to leave Harley at home with my parents. We have been apart from him plenty of times for one night, but never five! I'm so glad we did it, Harley was very happy spending some time with his grandies, and we were able to have a really carefree and relaxing holiday. As anyone with children knows, holidays are not relaxing anymore. They can be fun, but they are hardwork. So here I share with you just a few happy snaps from the place that is fast becoming my favourite holiday destination.

point + shoot: sydney

Last week, my little family and I went over to Sydney to enjoy a few days of leisure with our great friends Joel and Bettina and their two boys Taj and Levi. We haven't been away with friends with children before, and it was so much fun! We spent a day at Taronga Zoo, which was a favourite with everyone. I had never been there myself, and was pretty blown away by the view and the grounds of the zoo. It was so lovely to see Harley so excited and taking it all in.
We also went to Bondi, Paddington (the markets were fab!), and did some shopping in the city. On our last day, we came across the most amazing playground (if you could call it that) at Darling Quarter. Harley had a blast! It was huge and had a huge area that involved water, pumps, streams, spouts.. his dream playground! Wish we had something like that in Perth.

The flight home was a bit of a nightmare (tantrum central!) and totally exhausting. Next holiday is Bali in a few weeks, and we are leaving Harley at home with his GG. I am soooo looking forward to the relaxing, even the thought of sitting on the plane reading a magazine without trying to hang on to a crazy toddler that won't sit still, but I'm also nervous about leaving him for 5 nights. The longest I have ever been apart from him is 2 nights.
