hankey blankeys make me happy

I received my order of Hankey Blankeys from Made by Mosey last week. I also found out that Madeleine will no longer be doing these beautiful blankeys for wholesalers, for at least a while. They are just way too time consuming, she sources the hankeys, washes them, irons them, sews them.. you get the idea!

Anyway, I was going to sell the last two girly ones at Harley and Soo, but they were just too pretty to give up. They have found a place in my new baby girl's nursery, in her cradle, as a playmat, for the pram. These little floral vintage patchwork blankeys, are so pretty but also practical, and I can't wait to show them off when my new baby is born next month! Oh, and if you, like me, just can't get enough of them, I still have two boys style blankeys for sale over at the store. Be quick people!

Shopping in Paris: Bonpoint

When I was staying in Paris last week, my friend Kassy had a list of places and stores that we must visit, and Bonpoint was one of them.

Located at 6 Rue De Tournon in Paris, on the premises of the 17th century Hotel de Brancas, the flagship Bonpoint concept store includes eight imaginatively decorated rooms, as well as a gorgeous cafe which has a courtyard that opens on sunny days.

Even if you don't have children, this store is well worth a look, just for the interior itself. Stunning white washed floorboards, whimsical chandeliers and mind blowing displays that really do leave you breathless! If you do have children, or are expecting, the store sells beautiful clothing for newborn up to around 12 year old, accessories, shoes, blankets, teddies, and also beautiful perfumes.

We took a break from baby shopping and shared a chocolate brownie and a generous slice of cheesecake in the store's cafe.

Of course I walked out the door with some very special purchases for my baby girl, due in June. The kind of pieces you hand down through generations! If you find yourself in Paris, be sure to visit Bonpoint, and allow yourself enough time to take it all in, it really is a truly amazing and special store to visit. I hear that there are also stores in other parts of Europe, and in Asia and the US.

nursery style: eames rocker

I am totally lusting after an Eames rocker for the new nursery, and have found all of these inspirational nursery shots on Pinterest. I haven't been able to find anywhere in Perth that stock replica Eames, so I am going to buy online. Now I just need to decide which colour! Going back a few years, I probably would have gone with white. But now I'm leaning towards more and more colour! It's fun! My favourites are pale blue or yellow. More nursery inspiration to come. Just warning you!

point + shoot: vintage baby shower

On Sunday, I hosted one of my dearest friends baby showers. There were macaroons, tarts and cupcakes of course, served with tea made in vintage tea pots and served in nana's old mismatched tea cups and saucers. It was a beautiful afternoon and the mummy to be was totally spoilt, as she deserved!

point + shoot: childless in bali

We have just returned from five glorious days in Seminyak, Bali, full of amazing food, heaps of shopping, and plenty of rest and relaxation. We went with another couple, great friends of ours who have no children yet, so we made the decision to leave Harley at home with my parents. We have been apart from him plenty of times for one night, but never five! I'm so glad we did it, Harley was very happy spending some time with his grandies, and we were able to have a really carefree and relaxing holiday. As anyone with children knows, holidays are not relaxing anymore. They can be fun, but they are hardwork. So here I share with you just a few happy snaps from the place that is fast becoming my favourite holiday destination.
