Here are a few of the photos our gorgeous friend Em from Norrsken blog took for us on the weekend. I'm so happy to finally have a few photos of our little family, with me in them, instead of behind the camera!

point + shoot: beach shoot

Yesterday afternoon, we met my dear friend Emelie down at our fave beachy jaunt, Yelo Cafe, and had a little photo shoot on the beach. I've been thinking for a while it would be nice to get some photos of us as a family of three (well, 4 if you include Soo), before we become a family of four.. or five.. if you include the dog!

Anyway.. it was fun, a little windy, and challenging to get photos of myself and Harley as he is obsessed with his dad to the point of me not wanting to touch him! Doesn't he know who looks after him?? Here is a little sneak peak.

birthday fun!

Last weekend was Harley's 2nd Birthday party! I think I'm still recovering from making the Choo Choo cake, hence why this post is so late! Harley had a blast with his little buddies and was totally spoilt with all things train related!

Despite the ridiculous heat, we had a fabulous extended aussie day weekend down south. It was almost too hot to go to the beach, almost. I enjoyed sleep ins, thanks to my sleepy nearly 2 year old little man. Chilling on the couch eating magnums with besties. A very sweaty afternoon at Clancys. A couple of Artezen breakies of course. Listening to the Hottest 100. And lots of swims at the divine Eagle Bay beach.

 

I have a very busy week this week baking and getting organised for Harley's 2nd birthday party. Seriously. Cannot. Believe. He is 2 already!

reflection

My little guy at 2 weeks old - next week he will be 2 years old. I'm nearly half way through my pregnancy with baby # 2, and its got me reflecting - wondering if this next one will look like Harley did, with his crazy hair!

This was a fun little photo shoot we did on Sunday afternoon. I was disappointed that I didn't have many photos of my pregnancy with Harley, so this time I really want to make the effort to document it, so I have something to look back on! Not really high on the priority list when you are feeling like crap. Finally, I am starting to feel less sicky every day, but still waiting for that 'burst' of energy you are meant to get in your second trimester.

getting back into it

Its been a funny old week. I'm finding it hard to get back into the swing of things.. parden the pun! My little guy has never taken much of a liking to swings, but this week, he decided, they're actually alright. I love this photo of him!

The highlight of the week has definately been the birth of beautiful baby Summer - the daughter of our gorgeous friends Leisha and Damo. We met her yesterday, and what a little gem she is! I wrapped up a bundle of goodies from Harley and Soo, and off we trotted to the hospital to inhale that addictive newborn smell!

 

I'm making chicken and mushroom risotto tonight. Stay tuned for the recipe, its a bit of a family fave.

Childhood. I never liked peas, and still don't, but my little guy loves them. This was his dinner tonight. A heap of peas on top of sweet potato mash.

the second birthday

Harley's birthday is on the 1st of February, so I kind of need to get organised before the summer break so that I can send out invites in early January. I have been looking everywhere for some cute invites, it is so hard to find nice boy ones! Anyway, I've ended up going with these, from Kikki K. I immediately loved them, although I am a little worried about all the pink! I know they are a little girly, but they are cute, and he doesn't care! They do have a bit of blue on them!

harley: 22 months

My gorgeous, water-obsessed little guy is 22 months old today! Hard to believe, that in two months he will be two. He loves his daddy, likes to wear caps, is getting really into Dora, and is spitting out new words every day. Favourite foods are toast, scrambled eggs and peas. He likes coffee. He still can't run, his little legs are too short, which is good, because hes not fast enough to run away! His hair is getting crazier and crazier and I'm sick of people telling me he needs a haircut, I love his beautiful hair!

nature scape

We went and checked out the new Rio Tinto Nature Scape at Kings Park this week. It's fabulous! Such a fantastic place for children of all ages to explore. Harls especially loved exploring the streams and picking up pebbles.

I have a feeling we'll become regulars. Perth really needed somehting like this! And its a bonus that its so close to our place.
