nursery style: new cot

 

After alot of thought, we have decided that Harley is not ready to move into a bed, even not in a few months, so we are going to have to buy a second cot. Not wanting to spend too much on the second one, I was leaning towards a plain white one from Ikea, but then I came across this one, on sale at Incy Interiors! I love an iron cot!

 

Finally I got around to clearing out the spare room yesterday, and I will be posting progress as I create a new room for Harley and update the nursery for the new little one.

Still reflecting on the amazing week I spent in Paris last month. I've only been home just over a week, but it feels like forever ago. Why is that always the way with holidays?

Shopping in Paris: Bonpoint

When I was staying in Paris last week, my friend Kassy had a list of places and stores that we must visit, and Bonpoint was one of them.

Located at 6 Rue De Tournon in Paris, on the premises of the 17th century Hotel de Brancas, the flagship Bonpoint concept store includes eight imaginatively decorated rooms, as well as a gorgeous cafe which has a courtyard that opens on sunny days.

Even if you don't have children, this store is well worth a look, just for the interior itself. Stunning white washed floorboards, whimsical chandeliers and mind blowing displays that really do leave you breathless! If you do have children, or are expecting, the store sells beautiful clothing for newborn up to around 12 year old, accessories, shoes, blankets, teddies, and also beautiful perfumes.

We took a break from baby shopping and shared a chocolate brownie and a generous slice of cheesecake in the store's cafe.



Of course I walked out the door with some very special purchases for my baby girl, due in June. The kind of pieces you hand down through generations! If you find yourself in Paris, be sure to visit Bonpoint, and allow yourself enough time to take it all in, it really is a truly amazing and special store to visit. I hear that there are also stores in other parts of Europe, and in Asia and the US.

 

 

point + shoot: 24 weeks

A quick (and late.. again) point + shoot this week.. this is me on the weekend, ready to head around to my bestie's place for a good ol' girlie evening in.. which ended in a 1am bedtime for me which I am so not used to anymore! Felt like I'd been up drinking all night when I woke up the next day. Anyway, this is my 24 week bump, coming along quite nicely!

 

The bump and I are flying all the way to Paris tomorrow to visit a very special friend who is lucky enough to be living in my favourite city of all time for a couple of years. Crazy! I'm so SO excited! Having a little trouble packing winter gear. Not looking forward to the long flight. But it will be worth it, for sure!

point + shoot: better late than never

Its been a crazy week, hence why I am only doing this now, on Thursday night! We spent our long weekend down south at the beach house. These photos were taken when we went over to my parent's place for a bbq on the Sunday evening, Harley got to hang out with his great grandparents there too. After dinner we wandered down to the beach for a play, dogs included!

point + shoot: beach shoot

Yesterday afternoon, we met my dear friend Emelie down at our fave beachy jaunt, Yelo Cafe, and had a little photo shoot on the beach. I've been thinking for a while it would be nice to get some photos of us as a family of three (well, 4 if you include Soo), before we become a family of four.. or five.. if you include the dog!

Anyway.. it was fun, a little windy, and challenging to get photos of myself and Harley as he is obsessed with his dad to the point of me not wanting to touch him! Doesn't he know who looks after him?? Here is a little sneak peak.

My little guy at 2 weeks old - next week he will be 2 years old. I'm nearly half way through my pregnancy with baby # 2, and its got me reflecting - wondering if this next one will look like Harley did, with his crazy hair!

photo a day challenge: catch up

My mum informed me today that I was behind with my daily photo for the Fat Mum Slim Photo a Day Challenge that I am taking part in! Thanks Mum! I was well aware that I was being a bit slack, so thanks to a little kick up the bum, here are the past 5 day's photos - which I actually did take on each given day - just didn't find the time to post them! So... here they are:

Day 13 - In My Bag. Here are the contents of my every day hand bag, emptied out. Minus a few stray sultanas.

Day 14 - What I'm Reading. I have a few magazine subscriptions. I normally receive the next month before I've finished reading the last!

Day 15 - Happiness. A soft serve icecream after a morning spent at the beach!

Day 16 - Morning. In love with this baby singlet from Melbourne brand, Fawn & Milk. Hoping to stock their winter collection at Harley and Soo.

Day 17 - Water. We saw alot of water (at the beach!) over the weekend, but today I haven't been down. So this is a bit of a boring shot. Settling in on the computer this afternoon to do some work before I go and pick the boy up, an iced water with a dash of lime.
