point + shoot: better late than never

Its been a crazy week, hence why I am only doing this now, on Thursday night! We spent our long weekend down south at the beach house. These photos were taken when we went over to my parent's place for a bbq on the Sunday evening, Harley got to hang out with his great grandparents there too. After dinner we wandered down to the beach for a play, dogs included!

eagle bay: project kitchen

 Here is the kitchen before.. the entire house is timber, and I have been gradually adding white to lighten the place up a bit. So, when we were down on the weekend, we decided to paint the cupboards in the kitchen...

 After! Such a huge difference, really brightens the whole area! I'll do a longer post with better quality photos soon.

We spent a gorgeous long weekend down at our beach house, in Eagle Bay. It was nice for a change for it to be just us. Heres a little bit of what we got up to..

Had a good play at the local playground, we had it all to ourselves.

 Spent a morning playing in rockpools at Yallingup beach.

 Went to my parents place for a bbq dinner.

 Nawww.. the best and original staffy, Alf.

Dusted the cobwebs off the jetski and gave it a good clean, ready for summer!

We also painted the kitchen, white, of course! I'll do another post on that later.

beach house: changing colour

We are having a little bit of maintenance done on our beach house, which will hopefully be completed before the summer holidays. The exterior was due for a paint job, and we have decided to change the colour, which has always been blue. I'm a bit sad to say goodbye to the blue, but I think the light grey that we've chosen is going to look fab!

down south fun

 We are off to Sydney for a little holiday early tomorrow, to meet up with some friends who are traveling around Australia. Needless to say, I have been flat out today washing, packing, and getting ready for an early start tomorrow morning.

I still had all these fun photos from the weekend down south I wanted to share, so quickly, here they are!

point + shoot: a weekend down south

The weekend was great. The 3 hour drive home, not so great. But so worth it. Heres how it went..


We drove down to our beach house on friday afternoon, and were joined by our great friends, Damo & Leisha, who picked up our fave takeaway thai on their way through town.


Saturday morning we walked on Eagle Bay beach, while the dogs and kids (one kid, Harley) played. The boys settled in to watch the footy mid morning, so Leisha and I did the obvious thing and headed into town to browse the shops in peace. A few purchases later, we headed home and rounded everyone up to go to the Eagle Bay Brewery for a late lunch and some brews. Everyone must have drank too much during the game, as the place was pretty quiet. We sat in the warm sunshine and picked at olives and the like while the boys kicked the footy and played with Harley (some funny snaps to come).


After an early night and an early morning with Harls, we enjoyed a yummy breakie at Artezen and then checked out a vintage market held at the Yallingup town hall. Leish picked up a few bargains. It really had such a great country feel about it, if we hadn't have had the boys hanging outside all bored we might have been able to enjoy it a little more!


Sunday arvo wound up with the boys watching Moto GP and the girls packing up. A visit to Harley's great grandparents on the way out of town, U Tube clips of Lazytown on the iPad to keep the little man amused and KFC drive through as we arrived back where we started.


This week is short as we are heading over to Sydney on Wednesday to have fun with some other friends! Between now and then there are jobs to be done, loads of washing to hang and suitcases to be packed!

Tomorrow we are heading down to spend the weekend with some good friends at our beach house in Eagle Bay. Eagle Bay is a small town nestled inbetween Dunsborough and Bunker Bay, about 3 hours south of Perth, Western Australia. We try and go down there every few weeks for the weekend, and spend more time down there over the summer. At the moment, we are doing some maintenance and renovations, including changing the colour of the external walls from blue to grey! I plan on posting lots of before and after shots on this blog. This house has been an ongoing project and we have gradually been renovating and updating over the years. There is something so special about this place, there are so many memories, and every time we arrive and walk in the door, I feel instantly happy and relaxed!
